One 19th April, 2017 President Duke spoke about the government’s non-paying of back pay of TRHA workers. President Duke wears two hats in the case of Tobago, firstly as PSA president but also as minority leader of the THA. He spoke of the non-payment of back pay using a number of locally humorous visuals all pointing to promising but ‘letting we down’ public servants.

He spoke of the Ministry of Health seemingly have “gotten their money already”, suggesting that perhaps the feeling that all other parties are happy their time will come. He spoke of vanishing hope that after 31st March they have not yet being paid. He stated that they will “wait” to see if members will be paid after which ‘we will find out’.
