THE PUBLIC SERVICES ASSOCIATION OF TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO
OF #89 ABERCROMBY STREET, PORT-OF-SPAIN
SPECIAL INFORMATION BULLETIN
DEAR COMRADES/MEMBERS/STAFF AT
ERIC WILLIAMS MEDICAL SCIENCE COMPLEX
Bulletin No: 2 of 2010 May 7, 2010
I take this opportunity to send out this address to you. I must begin by thanking all of you for your unstinting support and continued prayers for my safety and for the President and Executive members of the Public Services Association to which many of you are members.
As you are all aware the Public Services Association, the Executive members and to a greater extent the President has been enduring some unwarranted pressure from some dissident factors of this Organization who are hell bent on bringing this astute Association into disrepute.
Because you are now being thrown into the abyss of Trade Unionism, you may find yourself questioning your allegiance to this Union. I would like to categorically state here, hold steadfast to your Union, at the end of the day your Union is your shelter from the many ills of the Regional Health Authority.
This Union has begun talks on Negotiations – Negotiations for a better living wage, for better Terms and Conditions for you. I am therefore asking you, do not give up! do not get weary! ‘Reflect’, when this Executive got into Office, our first major project was the ‘Protest Action’ taken by President Watson Duke and the Executive at Building #39 for your ‘Arrears and Increments’ “Remember that”, have you ever seen the former President and her Executive leading such action?
Take a look at the Board of Inland Revenue, they held on, since January 29th on Protest Marches until the month of April when they got victory, no more Trinidad and Tobago Revenue Authority [T.T.R.A.]. Is this a Union in disarray?
Fellow Colleagues, we are Negotiating Market Rates for you. Hold on steadfast, do not listen to detractors and dissidents – Never give up, this too shall pass.
LONG LIVE THE P.S.A.
