THE PUBLIC SERVICES ASSOCIATION OF TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO
OF #89 ABERCROMBY STREET, PORT-OF-SPAIN
SPECIAL INFORMATION BULLETIN
DEAR COMRADES/MEMBERS/STAFF AT
CUSTOMS & EXCISE AND
BOARD OF INLAND REVENUE
WE REMAIN PURPOSEFULLY VIGILANT
Bulletin No: 20 of 2009 October 5, 2009
During the recent budget debate the Minister of Finance reminded the country that the Trinidad and Tobago Revenue Authority (T.T.R.A.) would become a reality during the year 2010. Maybe, the Minister is correct. There is however no “MAYBE” about our resolve to ensure that your RIGHTS and your “LEGITIMATE EXPECTATIONS” ARE PROTECTED. You MUST be afforded the right to choose which one of the THREE (3) OPTIONS would serve your interests.
Whenever the Legislation i.e. the Bill, is placed before the Parliament, we shall ensure that it contains provisions for the following:
-
The Option to transfer to the new Trinidad and Tobago Revenue Authority on Terms agreeable to that Authority and to you the Employer or your Trade Union (who we assure you is most competent to secure the most favourable Terms and Conditions for you.
-
The Option of redeployment within the wider Public Service where suitable positions can be identified. It should be noted that the basis for determining suitability would be your qualifications and NOT the Job Title of another Public Service post.
-
The Option of a Voluntary Separation of Employment Plan that is NEGOTIATED between the Employer and your Union.
Nothing less would be accepted. We have the expertise, the demonstrated competence and the resolve to ensure that you are treated in no less favourable a manner than your other Public Service colleagues who were at the Postal Service, at the Civil Aviation Division, at the Public Service Library and at the Ministry of Health.
Retain our expertise and proven track record.
ON NOVEMBER 25TH, 2009 VOTE THE REFOREMERS OF THE P.S.A.
