Director of Personnel Administration

On the occasion of its 70th Anniversary, it is my pleasure as Director of Personnel Administration and head of the Service Commissions Department to congratulate the Public Services Association, in an ever- changing global environment, it is indeed heartening to note that the PSA has achieved such a significant milestone.
Having been a member since 1979, I must commend the organisation for its resilience and dedication to the service of public officers. The Association was borne out of struggle to serve the best interests of the members thereby insuring that they enjoy better terms and conditions. This philosophy remains at the core of its operations. It is recognised that the PSA, public officers have a voice.
Certainly, I must praise the President Jennifer Baptiste-Primus, a sister in leadership, for breaking the glass ceiling and establishing firmly that as a woman with great responsibility she leads from the front, which is evidence by her many achievements over the years.
It is said that to whom much is given, much is expected. Though faced with frustrating and often burdensome issues of the constantly changing industrial relations climate, Jennifer my friend, you continue to excel where others may have faltered. You have taken the PSA to greater heights by venturing into new partnerships with government and other agencies to make such areas as housing and medical insurance viable options for public officers. Under your stewardship, the PSA is sure to remain relevant to the needs of our society. Of this I am proud.
